Spring has sprung!

We have had such great weather for the past couple of days. It is so nice to have the kids play outside. Jake is loving it. The only bad thing is that he has a hard time coming in. Today, we cleaned out the sand box and put fresh sand in. They played outside most of the day.

Last night we suprised the kids and had family duck pin bowling night. They had a great time! Rachel won. Sad but true! Scott had an excuse...Jake would roll the ball on his first turn. I, on the other hand, do not have a good excuse!

It was so cute. They had a size 6 shoe for Jake. (He usually wears a little smaller but that is the smallest they had.)

Notice the dirt on his pants from playing outside all day Friday. Yikes, guess I should have cleaned him up a little better.

The dynamic duo.

Another thing Jake discovered this week.... He likes to dip. Ketchup, Ranch Dressing it doesn't matter.

My teen dreams.....

For a girls day out we went to see JOEY MCINTYRE! Oh, how much I loved him when I was 12. And ya know what..he still looked pretty good!

We thought that he would be doing a lot of songs that we didn't know, but he sang a lot of old "crooner" songs, like L-O-V-E, Funny Valentine and I've Got Rythem (that doesn't look right...). He was really good. I would go see him again! Plus he sang...PLEASE DON'T GO GIRL! He made me swoon...again!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...in March!

How is it possible that we can have record temps in Baltimore on Wednesday. It was 86 degrees! We had all the summer bubbles and sidewalk chalk out. On Wednesday, it was so warm, I made Jake wear his swim shorts (everything else was packed away.) AND NOW THIS.......

ONE WORD.....YUCK! Madi missed a field trip and we all missed a play tonight because they closed school two hours early!

The other day, I came into the kitchen to find this suprise.

Jake had helped himself to the butter. He knows how to open the fridge and he has been picking up the box of butter. I keep telling him to put it back. I guess he found a moment when mom wasn't looking.

Stacey bought Madison these sunglasses the other day. I thought she looked pretty cute.

To bad her brother broke them today in the car. Oh...the joys of having little brothers!

Another sickness, another Dr's visit....

So, I think Jake has another ear infection. I think it's at least been three since the start of the new year. I have been hesitant to take him in, because Madi and I have a little cough too! I was thinking...if I could just hold out, it would get better. I hate going to the doctor's office. I always feel foolish for some reason. I don't remember going to the doctor's when I was a kid. Jake has practically lived there. When the doctor comes in he lays down and pulls up his shirt. He even does the big breaths in when the doctor listens to his chest. Today, he has been coughing, it seems like, at least every minute. We went to Walmart to pick up a few things and I thought I would get him a treat at McDonald's. As we were in line he started coughing again and he threw up all over himself and the floor. I know he is not to blame, but I was so embarrased. I tried cleaning up the floor. As I was doing that he threw up again. I finally cleaned it up the best I could and left WalMart in tears. The crazy thing was, right before we went into WalMart, I called the Dr's and I got an appt for 3:30 today. Scott (is now) coming home so he can watch the girls. The last time we were there, in the middle of February, they said that if his current ear infection did not clear up or he got another one soon after we might have to talk about tubes in his ears.... needless to say, my stomach is in knots. I am glad Scott is coming home so that I can really talk to the Dr. without having to corral 3 kids. I hate to worry, but it is what I do well at I guess. Thanks to those who read for letting me vent...sorry you had to read it!

We'll see what happens..........

Update... We went to the Dr's and Jake did not have an ear infection..but the dr. said it's not to say he won't get one! Lovely... I think someone in MY FAMILY...maybe STACEY...needs to marry a doctor so that he can teach me how to tell if it is an ear infection! The doc asked if anyone in our family had allergies. I said yes, so she now thinks maybe it is allergies. She gave me a sample of Zyrtec to see if that helps. After I left the office, of course it was not after, not when I was in the office, I thought how could it be allergies if Madi and I have it too. Oh well we'll see. Now I will keep my fingers crossed it gets better soon!

After the dr's we went to the park....what a nice day outside today. It's sad to think it will get cold again by the end of the week!

My little Picasso

Well, I guess we are finally going to have to paint. The other day, I came in to see this lovely 1 x 2 ft drawing on my living room wall!

Luckily it came off (mostly) with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!

Today, Madison had to give the scripture in Primary. I was whispering it in her ear and she would repeat after me. We got about halfway into the scripture and it said "the great Mediator." She looked at me funny so I repeated myself. This happened twice....finally she said "the great MEAT EATER!" I had to keep the chuckle inside, because she would have been so embarrased. I guess I will save that story till she's a teenager.

It's been a while...

So I haven't posted for a while (between strep/stomach flus/ ear infection/ and dead camera batteries...it got crazy) , so I thought I would add some of my favorite pics..

All dressed for church...

Our first snow to play in....

I even got the little guy into the cleaning mood before Mom and Aunt Mary came...

A day off...

While my mom and aunt were here, Rachel took her first unexcused day off.

We shopped and the girls got their first manicures....

They walked out of the shop on three feet of air. They thought they were hot!

Happy Birthday Rachel

I cannot believe that I have a 7 year old. YIKES.... only 6 more years till I have a teenager!

My mom and aunt came down for an extended weekend to help celebrate. For Rachel's party we invited all the little girls from her homeroom class. We ended up with 10 girls plus Madison. Rachel wanted to do a luau. The girls got to make their necklaces and then decorate a frame. I think they had a lot of fun, even though some girls swore they saw and heard snakes in our basement. Oh, what their little minds will come up with.

After the party Nana Sue and Aunt Mary got into the spirit with the girls.
