Caught in the act!

Today I decided to make cookies. Scott is having a meeting tonight at the house and I thought it would be nice to have refreshments. So anyway....

Jake and I were sharing a cookie when the timer on the stove went off. I put him on the ground and went about taking the cookies out of the oven...you know what's involved in making cookies. I have my back to the table and I hear "hot, hot". I turned around to find that Jake had climbed up on the chair to the table and helped himself to one. What a little stinker... Thanks Mom Mom for wishing Scott would have a boy just like him!

The next time the timer went off, I made sure to push the chair in. By the time I was done with that batch, he had pulled the chair out enough that he could get up again!! Luckily, I got him before he got another cookie.

On other notes...Rachel is loving school. She got a little eraser from her ILA teacher for following the rules...she was on cloud nine. I get to go to Back to School night and volunteer training tonight. I am interested to see what they will be learning. Should be fun!

Madison got a check for $30.oo from Nana Sue for her birthday. We cashed it today, and she was so excited. She went to Wal Mart and bought two skirts that she has seen on a previous shopping trip and a teen magazine (bop). She is such a little DIVA!

1st Grade

Rachel started first grade this morning at 7:40 AM. We woke her up at 6:45, so she could make her bus at 7:15. As soon as I touched her, she popped up and said, "Do I get to go to school today?" She was so excited. I have never seen her so awake and chatterey. She was so excited. I just hope that she wakes up like this every morning! Yeah, Right! I hope she has a great day! I know she will...

Basketball Fever and Tan Lines

The picture doesn't do much justice, but Jake has such a cute tan line. After coming home from the pool today, he was running around the house in the buff. Just seeing this tan little back and a snow white bum, made me laugh. This was the best "modest" picture I took. It's not the best, but you can see what I mean...

Tonight for our FHE, we had dinner at the duck pond and then went and bought Jake a basketball hoop. Jake LOVES anything that has to do with balls. This summer we've had a membership to the city pool and whenever he sees a ball free he wants the shoot it in the hoop. As you can see from the picture, he was wanting to put the ball through the hoop before Scott had gotten the net on. It was a very funny scene.

Green Thumbs

Madison is so excited that her sunflower actually "popped." She planted the sunflower as a seed for Mother's Day at preschool. We planted it in front of our house this spring. I didn't realized that it would grow sooooo big. We have had fun watching it grow.

Rachel gave me a green bean plant that she planted from a seed for Mother's Day. We planted that next to the sunflower. We have gotten atleast 20 or so beans from one plant. They are little gardners in the making!

The New Hair-Do's!

We thought we would try our hand at this blogger thing...so here we go!

Welcome all...we hope you enjoy our family life as much as we do!

Rachel and Jake got haircuts today. Rachel wanted a new first grade hairdo and Jake looked a little shaggy! Madi got her haircut a few weeks ago and it looked super cute. For a long time, I have tried to persude Rachel to keep her hair long because I loved her curls. I decided that she should have her haircut the way she wanted too....(JUST NO BANGS!)....so she went and told the hairdresser what she wanted. I think she was inspired by her little sis! We walked out of Great Clips and Rachel said she looked just like Madison. Madison said they were now "twinsies"!
